There were Earth Day celebrations at “Oktogon” today. Problem: there are apparently two places in Budapest just referred to as “Oktogon”—one is the intersection of two major tram lines (which, when they cut off the corners for easier right turns, became an octagon, whence the name); the other

is in the main building of CEU, which, when I read the email more closely, I realized was specified. Oh well; half an hour’s a reasonable time to travel for free food. The Earth Day fest itself was something of a misnomer, though, since this tree looks more like it’s from Mars:
