Restarting is supposed to be the first thing you do when you have computer trouble. I’ve discovered, though, that when my wifi card goes down (as it does occasionally, including today), restarting doesn’t fix it, but shutting down and starting back up immediately does. (Sample size of three for each.) Maybe Microsoft was trying to be too clever somehow in restarting? Actually, more likely Dell, since the wifi card isn’t Microsoft’s.
