The usual winter Hungarian gift-giving day is the 24th (and Santa comes on December 6th). Accordingly, I opened one digital present from my family and spent most of the day reading it; physical presents are postponed for luggage home, since shipping costs are much more expensive than the presents themselves.

Also, fearing holiday crowds, today was the first day since I got here that I didn’t leave my flat. I did hear lots of crowds and a few carolers (singing tunes I recognize from America) outside.
