The political debate du jour in Budapest is about some of the districts’ mayors’ attempts to criminalize homelessness. When it was pointed out that that was impossible, since the homeless couldn’t just become homeful, at least one of them changed their proposal to banning homelessness “as a lifestyle,” which I’m not sure how is any different.

Anyway, today I ran into someone homeless who spoke some English (more than a list of synonyms for “money”) and, more importantly, was asking for food, not money. So, I went a bit out of my way and bought him two apples. An efficient purchase of charitable fuzzies, if not utilons.
