Did nothing of general interest today (just algebraic number theory homework).

At Kalvin Tér, the intersection a bit north of my apartment, the pedestrian walk signals aren’t synchronized with the traffic lights: there’s about 10 seconds when neither cars nor pedestrians are allowed in the intersection. (It’s under construction, and they’ve probably changed one but not the other. ) Going in one direction, the pedestrians arriving late to the other side of the street delay left turners, so I don’t wait for the signal; going the other, I obey my Seattlite instincts and wait awkwardly for the signal.

I think about this (jay-)walking whenever I walk through Kalvin Tér, which brings back happy memories of MOP.
