It’s less than two weeks after most students have arrived, and already, on a weekday, a third of the class missed most of the morning session because they’d been up until 4ish partying. I’d expected better from my impressions of people I knew in the US who’d done BSM; this isn’t a good sign.

(By “better” I mean “more interesting to me”—I don’t mean to judge their morals.)

I did get two people in the class interested in Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, though, which is a good sign.
